Reverse Engineering Your Future

Most people in life know what they don’t want, they often have an inkling of what they do want, however they don't always have crystal clarity of the route.

What's going on in your life right now? Ask yourself what direction are you going in and what do you want to achieve do you have an end goal in sight? If you were going on a journey and using your GPS you wouldn't be able to travel to your destination without knowing your starting point.

We need to start at the beginning and we need to be honest with ourselves. We are always moving either away from something or towards something in our journey to grow and reach another level. For example, I've been talking about starting my own business forever but I haven’t, I kinda know what I want to do but I haven’t, I'm making okay money, but I want to make so much more,  ..... get it?

Therefore the first point is to understand exactly where you right NOW!
The next thing to do is think if it was a year from now and it was the best year of your life, what would that look like?

If you know where you are it's like GPS, it's your starting point next question is, where are you dropping the pin? When we talk about where you want to go, this is the part when most people mess up because most people focus on what they don’t want and that will only steer you away from your path to where you really want to go because if it’s not clearly defined then how on earth are you going to get there?

I don’t like my job, life, weight, spouse (insert anything in here that you don't want) and that will only create more of the same. What we need to do is write down our compelling future, and this starts with reverse engineering.  You need to write down what the best year of your life looks like looking backward. What do you look like? How is your confidence? Where are you living? What kind of money are you making? How do your friends look at you? Are you living in focus, courage?

So if you know where you are, and you know where you want to go, then the third part is to anchor in your why. Why do you want it, we dig deep into this in the challenge my question is WHY do you want this future?

The last part of the puzzle is the BRIDGE. You know where you are, you know where you want to go, you have anchored in your why so how are you going to get there? This is where the bridge comes in knowing where you are and where you want to go gives you the map. The why gives you the energy and enthusiasm, the grit, to make it happen the I'm going to do whatever it takes to get there, the last piece is the HOW, the bridge, the capabilities, new knowledge,next-level thinking. Basically how to pivot your career, your life, and make new decisions!
